- I have learned "Швейцари". The word actually derives from the Russian word "Швейцария". There was a kinda rule to cut the last "я" or "ия" to make it a Mongolian name. You can see it in many examples, including Англия-Англи, Боливия-Боливи, Индонезия-Индонез, Голландия-Голланд, Германия-Герман, Швеция-Швед. But I have never encountered a geographical name which is written in Russian ending with "ия" and ends with "ь" in Mongolian language. The German Embassy uses швейцарь [1], while the Ministry for Foriegn Affairs uses швейцар [2], while the Mongolian Parliament Website used швейцари [3] and швейцарь [4].--Чинээ (яриа) 05:23, 20 Зургаадугаар сар 2008 (UTC)
- The Mongolian parliament site uses all three forms, including швейцар [5] . Since Mongolians obviously can't make up their collective mind in everyday use, we'll probably have to resort to dictionaries and encyclopedias as more reliable sources.
